Plans to convert a former children's home into a house have been approved.
The approved application includes the change of use from a children's home to a residential dwelling for the applicant to live in, alongside some minor external alterations.
Hollybank House, on Hollybank Crescent, Oakhill, was constructed around the 19th century and its last known use was as a children's home under the local authority.
Several planning applications for the property have previously been submitted and approved, but these schemes do not appear to have been implemented.
The planning officers' report stated "The proposed development would offer a very substantial residential dwelling which would provide a large family home with an abundance of both internal and external space and amenity."
The council has approved the application under the conditions that the development begins in no more than three years and they are carried out in accordance with the approved plans and specified materials.
