Last Thursday (11 June), children's charity Mentor Link invited schools, local councillors, the NHS, Severn Trent Water, Volunteer Mentors, parents and childcare workers from the local area to attend a special open day at The Shire Hall in Stafford.
The event marked the charity's expansion into Staffordshire.
Mentor Link provides one to one mentoring and therapeutic support to children facing social or emotional issues during their time at school.
They aim to help children to improve their self-esteem and engage better in learning with the support of professionally trained mentors.
The charity also works in partnership with two educational psychologists to deliver an EBSA project which assists children back into education after a period of absence.
During the event, CEO and Founder of Mentor Link, Andrea Maddocks spoke about the fantastic work carried out by Volunteer Mentors and the charity's plans for Staffordshire.
She said: "We are delighted to be offering our services in the Staffordshire area and already working with some schools, including Shenstone Lodge and St. Peter's CE Primary Academy.
"We thank everyone who attended our open day and for helping spread the word of our charity!"
Mentor Link have been helping children back into education for over 24 years and have partnerships with over 80 schools across the Midlands.
Schools and parents can get in touch with Mentor Link by emailing [email protected] or calling 01299 822336.
