A "popular" ceramic makers market is due to return to a Stoke-on-Trent pottery museum this December.

Gladstone Pottery Museum will welcome back its Ceramic Makers Market for the fourth year on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December.

The event will bring together more than 60 ceramic artists and makers from across the UK, including contestants from Channel 4's The Great Pottery Throw Down, Bill Rolls and Elham Hessavi.

A wide variety of work, from tableware and tiles to sculpture and studio ceramics will be showcased

Local artists will be featured as well as makers from across the country, including Surrey-based EpsomPots.

Councillor Sarah Hill, cabinet member for finance, anti-poverty, governance and corporate services at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: "The Ceramic Makers Market is one of our most popular events, and it's great to welcome it back for another two-day event as it returns for its fourth year.

"Stoke-on-Trent's ceramics industry made the city famous across the world and the market is an opportunity to celebrate the makers who continue that tradition today.

"With more than 60 ceramic artists exhibiting, visitors can browse and buy work directly from makers and take the opportunity to visit Gladstone for free.

"It's also great to welcome former contestants from The Great Pottery Throw Down, giving visitors the chance to see work from ceramicists they may recognise from TV."

Visitors can explore the museum's historic collections and buildings as well as browse the market.

Gladstone is normally closed to the public between 26 October and 2 January, but the Ceramic Makers' Market offers an opportunity to enjoy the museum during its winter closure, with free admission for all visitors.

The museum and market will be open from 11am to 4pm on both days.
