A new charity shop is set to open on a Stoke-on-Trent retail park, taking over a unit which has been empty for five years.

The Salvation Army will open on Springfields Retail Park, Trent Vale, in the former Carpetright unit, next to Pets at Home.

The nearly 7,000 square meter site will form a charity shop where people can donate items as well as shop for hidden gems.

Proposed front election of the new shop (David Magnani).

The shop will also be looking for new volunteers.

Salvation Army has applied for permission from Stoke-on-Trent City Council to begin erecting new signs outside the unit, in preparation for their grand opening later this year.
