A local charity is calling on people to "be the voice that changes lives" by joining their helpline team.

Staffordshire Women's Aid Helpline Volunteers are the first point of contact for people affected by domestic and sexual violence.

They play a vital role in helping those who contact the charity by offering emotional support, a listening ear and connecting them with services they need.

Those interested in volunteering should be able to commit to at least one four-hour shift per week at the Women's Centre in Stafford.

Staffordshire Women's Aid said: "You don't need previous experience- just empathy, good listening skills and a genuine desire to make a difference.

"We'll provide comprehensive training, ongoing support and opportunities to develop valuable skills in communication, safeguarding and crisis response.

"If you've been looking for a meaningful way to give back and support survivors on their journey to safety and recovery, we'd love to hear from you."

Travel costs and parking expenses will be provided within reason.
