An annual canal festival is set to return to Stoke-on-Trent for its third year this weekend.
The Middleport Pottery Canal Festival is set to return on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June with heritage narrowboats, floating traders, stalls, live entertainment and more.
First launched in 2023, the festival celebrates the canals that once played an integral role in how the Grade II* listed Middleport Pottery site operated.
Louise Bartley, Marketing & Communications Manager at Re-Form Heritage – the Stoke-on-Trent based charity that owns and manages Middleport Pottery – said: "This annual celebration of our canal history here at Middleport Pottery brings together some fantastic local entertainers, creatives, roving traders and newly restored heritage narrowboat Norway will join the very talented creative community that is already here onsite.
"The annual Canal Festival always proves to be a great family fun day out and we look forward to welcoming everyone to this free event."
Middleport Pottery, situated next to the Trent & Mersey canal, was built by Burgess & Leigh in the late nineteenth century.
The event is free to enter – with an option to include a donation – and features a variety of artisan and craft stalls selling art, gifts and sweet treats.
There will be entertainment provided by Rock Choir (Saturday only), Trentham Brass Band (Sunday only) Koogie the Draft Horse (Saturday only), Trentham Canoe Club Paddleboarding, Creative Faces by Jess, Clay College Mini pot throwing taster sessions and Knobstick Roses Painting Demonstration
Visitors will also be able to see the following boats: NB Norway, Paws on the Cut, March Hare Emporium, Narrowboat OE.
