Position: Transport Manager - PalletsLocation: Newcastle-under-LymeSalary: 50,000 DEO

Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the transport office and operation, including financial performance, fleet management, customer satisfaction, employee engagement and driver retention, all the while upholding their company values, policies and procedures to the strictest health and safety regulations.

Your key responsibilities as a Transport Manager - Pallets:

  • Routing and scheduling vehicles to optimise fleet utilisation
  • Driver management, hiring, training and compliance
  • Proven knowledge of geographical routes and driver regulations in the UK
  • Compliance regulations, including obtaining and renewing permits and licences
  • Maintaining company policies and procedures
  • Fleet maintenance, vehicle inspection and compliance
  • Record keeping for licences, CPC's and training
  • Cost containment, reducing costs, optimising fuel consumption, ensuring the department is kept within budget
  • Hands-on coordination of emergency response and resolution of road incidents

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in transport and haulage management
  • International CPC
  • Knowledge of multi-drop pallet distribution is essential
  • A background in Pallet Network is desirable
  • Understanding of O Licence obligations
  • C&E licence, not essential but an advantage
  • The ability to exercise good leadership and people management skills
