INFORMATION AND DIGITAL SERVICES IDAM Engineer Grade 7 Salary Range £38,784 – 47,389 (Incremental progression) Full Time
The Opportunity
This post represents an exciting opportunity for a motivated team member to join a team of staff in Keele University's Information and Digital Services Directorate.
This role sits within the Infrastructure team and is focused on designing, implementing, supporting, and improving Identity and Access Management (IDAM/IAM) services across the organisation. The successful candidate will manage identity lifecycle processes such as onboarding and offboarding for staff and students, while ensuring secure and appropriate access to systems and services.
A key focus of the position is the development and maintenance of modern IAM solutions, particularly SailPoint, Microsoft Entra ID, and Active Directory. The role also involves integrating IAM platforms with systems such as ServiceNow, HR systems, and other enterprise applications, including API-based integration work between ServiceNow and SailPoint to support automated provisioning, access requests, and governance workflows. Knowledge of integration platforms such as MuleSoft or Boomi would also be advantageous.
The IDAM Engineer will work closely with IT Service Desk, Applications, Cyber Security, and Network teams to deliver secure and efficient identity services. Responsibilities include automating identity workflows, implementing least-privilege and role-based access controls, managing privileged and non-employee access, configuring identity connectors, and monitoring compliance with security standards and best practices.
The role also includes maintaining IAM documentation, contributing to IAM-related projects, supporting service improvements, and acting as a key contact for external suppliers while keeping up to date with emerging identity and access management trends and technologies.
