The Opportunity
This post represents an exciting opportunity to join a team of staff in Keele University's Campus Library, which is part of the Information and Digital Services Directorate (IDS). The Directorate is responsible for Library and IT.
The successful candidate will:
- Join a small but flexible team, providing assistance, support and guidance to staff, students and visitors to the Library building.
- Maintain and promote the Library as a safe, secure and welcoming environment to all customers.
- Observe, investigate and report matters of concern regarding security or health and safety issues.
- Be proactive in communicating Library policy to Library users.
- Liaise with Campus Safety and Estates staff, to maintain the building and study spaces.
- Assist in the evacuation of the building in times of emergency and respond to first aid incidents.
- Open and close the library according to agreed procedures and liaise with Campus Safety Team when necessary.
- Provide assistance to other Library teams when required.
Flexibility of working hours is essential to this role.
You will have experience of working in a customer focused role, with a positive, friendly approach and be able to demonstrate good communication and IT skills.
