Nexus Fostering, one of the UK's leading independent fostering agencies, is calling for new foster carers in Stoke-on-Trent as the number of children in care continues to rise.

Recent statistics reveal that Stoke-on-Trent has seen a 12% increase in the number of children entering the care system over the past year. There are now more than 450 children in need of foster care, whilst the available foster carers in the region remains insufficient to meet this need.

Nexus Fostering located in Telford are consistently rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, offering a wide range of placements, including respite care, therapeutic-led fostering, fostering for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and parent and child placements.

With their strong, local family feel, Nexus Fostering are committed to providing exceptional care and support to foster carers and the children they care for. Offering a competitive allowance per child, unrivalled 24/7 support, ongoing extensive training and access to their in-house Clinicians and a Head of Education.

Stoke couple, Gina and Michael, urge people to consider fostering after supporting three teenage girls (Nexus Fostering).

Stoke couple, Gina and Michael, urge more people to consider fostering after supporting three teenage girls: 'The rewards far outweigh the challenges and the differences you can make in a child's life is incredible. When you first meet the children and see the difference in them after a couple of months, there is nothing as rewarding as that."

Nexus Fostering are holding a fostering drop-in session at their local Telford office on Wednesday October 30th and Wednesday November 27th from 11am-12noon. Pop along and have a friendly chat with the local team.

Nexus Fostering welcome anyone to become a foster carer from individuals, couples or families. With no experience or qualifications needed, your everyday experiences are valuable transferable skills, a willingness to provide emotional support and life skills to children in need is often all it takes to build a nurturing environment for them to grow up in.

Feedback from current foster carers is overwhelmingly positive, too, with Stuart and Maria saying: 'We wanted to do therapeutic fostering and Nexus Fostering stood out by far. They have gone above and beyond and are always there as support whenever you need.'

Nexus Fostering is consistently rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted (Nexus Fostering).

Families in Stoke on Trent, as well as the wider Staffordshire area, are encouraged to get in touch. Approved foster carers who are currently registered with a fostering service provider can also enquire about transferring to Nexus Fostering, too.
